Bonny Leibowitz’s Student Art Show

Alejandra Lazcano Melissa Smith

Fifteen of Bonny Leibowitz’s advanced art students are represented in a show at the CPAC/Hathaway Ballet Academy and Performing Arts Conservatory (CPAC- Hathaway) in The Shops at Legacy, 5800 Legacy Drive, Suite C-11, Plano.  The show, which features original works by each student, will run through November 27th.

“The quality of the paintings in this extraordinary show is very exciting,” stated Leibowitz, “I am proud to see the unique talents, diverse interests and ever increasing skills of each artist. The pieces we see here are a testament to hard work and creative expression; many of them are for sale and are quite collectable.  CPAC – Hathaway, which promotes excellence in the arts, is an incredible venue for a show of this type.”

The public is invited to meet the artists at a special Opening Reception  to be held on November 19th from 3 to 6 pm.  CPAC /Hathaway will highlight the reception with performances by the CPAC/HATHAWAY dancers and musical vocals by Jason Coosner.

Leibowitz has been creating and exhibiting her own work for over 20 years and has been teaching painting for 14 years.  In 2004, she was inducted into the National Association of Women Artists, Inc., which is based in New York.  She subsequently exhibited and sold "Configuration" in the 117th Annual Exhibition in May 2006.  She currently exhibits at the Norwood Flynn gallery in Dallas. Her work has been the subject of national publications and is in numerous national private and corporate collections including Theresa Haddock Interiors and Renaissance Inc.

CPAC – Hathaway has almost 400 performing arts students.  The Center was established by Danna Reubin and Jason Coosner. In 2006 Kirt and Linda Hathaway joined the Conservatory and the four serve as its directors.
