For this class just bring conte; white and sepia and/or nu-pastels in any variety of color and paper: newsprint and/or smooth drawing paper 24x30 or smaller; 18x24 is great, a chamois and kneaded eraser. You can work on heavier canvas-papers and canvas with paint too.

Supplies:

If you are interested in using acrylic or pastels you are more than welcome to join in….just bring your supplies!

Suggested Water Soluble Oil supply list:

ASEL at Beltline and Central has most of these supplies. Tell them you are in the Bonny class and they will give you a discount on anything not already on sale:

Grumbacher's Max: titanium white, gold ochre hue, cadmium barium yellow orange, diozonine purple, ultramarine blue or cobalt, cad barium red deep red and or cad barium medium red, cerulean blue, payne's gray, perylene maroon, burnt umber and or raw umber and ivory black.

And:

Grumbacher's Max: "quick dry" liquid and/or a small linseed oil. And: Windsor Newton's Artisan: thalo green, magenta, naples yellow hue, olive green, cadmium yellow pale hue. If any of these are unavailable, get similar colors in Grumbacher Max or Holbein Duo. There are many beautiful colors by Holbein Duo you may want to add to your palette too.

Some favorites are; Princeton Art & Brush: 7400 series, 5400 series mostly flats and some brights and filberts up to size 20, 6550 fb, 6550 OW, 6100 fb and most Richeson brushes including 9165 filberts, Eclipse by Windsor Newton; filberts and Silver's Gran Prix 1001fb and 1003 flat Silver White. The folks at Asel;

Beltline and Central are a big help.

Canvas: You may like to choose gallery wrap so the staples don't show.

Odorless paint thinner. (I have some at the studio)

Linseed oil and/or liquin
