SPIRITUAL EVOLUTION

Biography:
Bonny Leibowitz was born
January 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She
attended Temple University's Tyler College of Art. In
1987 she began exhibiting nationally with one-person
shows including those at C. Anthony Gallery in Dallas,
Adaggio Gallery in Palm Springs and Houshang's Gallery
in Santa Fe.
Leibowitzs work has been
the subject of national publications and is in numerous
national private and corporate collections including
Theresa Haddock Interiors, Renaissance Inc and Poly
America. She has been commissioned on numerous occasions
to create inspired works for private collectors and
organizations including The Kabbalah Center which uses
the 5'x7' painting, 72 names of G-d, as a conduit for
spiritual elevation. "Freedom's Union" is on the cover
of "Blue Horses Rush In" by Luci Tapahonso and her piece
"Wild Is The Wind" is featured in Nita Leland's book
"The Creative Artist".
She is also involved
internationally with the Jewish Federation's Partnership
2000 Yitzhak project. This project took her and her
work to Israel in June of 2005 the result of which
recognized her as an Israel Bonds honoree. Her painting
"Eternal Yitzhak" was exhibited with an opening at the
Canton Museum of Art in November 2005 and has now been
acquired by The Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana.
In April 2005 "Dream Life"
was exhibited and sold at the Dallas Museum of Art's
Beaux Arts event.
An exhibition juried by
Ellen Soderquist at Sue Flynn's Studio 3318 in Dallas,
focusing on "The nude in art" chose "Delilah" for
exhibition in November 2005. Leibowitz's association
with Studio 3318, now renamed Norwood Flynn, continued
with a one-person-show entitled "Flesh, An Exhibition of
Paintings Revealing the Soul" in March of 2006 with a
published a catalogue. Her second one-person-show at
Norwood Flynn in November '07 was titled: "Permanent
States of Transition"
Manhattan Arts International awarded Bonny "Best In
Painting" in the "Her Story" competition for her
submission "A Goddess And A Dream" in April 2007.
Leibowitz achieved the honored position; "Artist of the
Week" with Manhattan Arts International in November '07.
Leibowitz is a 2004 inductee
of the prestigious National Association of Women
Artists, Inc. based in New York NY. NAWA subsequently
exhibited and sold "Configuration" in the 117th Annual
Exhibition in May 2006. She is an active member with
Manhattan Arts International.
Her most recent works are
more abstract and conceptual in nature utilizing line
and shape in new ways to reveal the essence of souls
impacted by one another existing and moving through our
corporeal world and beyond. Leibowitz continues to
pursue her ongoing passion by developing ever greater
intent, insight, imagery and technique.
